Dr. Margaret Burghardt
(BSc., MD, CCFP(SEM), Diploma of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM))
Dr. Margaret Burghardt is a Fellowship trained physician with over 25 years of experience in Sport and Exercise Medicine. She completed medical school at the University of Toronto and a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Western University. She successfully obtained the Diploma in Sport Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM) in 1996.
Dr. Burghardt is a Past President of CASEM (2020-2021) and sits on the CASEM Credentials and Publications Committees.
Dr. Burghardt is a Team Physician with Swimming Canada and has travelled globally with Swimming as well as with Athletics Canada and Canada Soccer. She has worked at International Games such as the PanAm Games and numerous World Championships.
When not working, Dr. Burghardt enjoys many outdoor activities including running, rowing and cross country skiing. She has participated in triathlons and half marathons over many years and enjoys hiking and cycle touring.
